Lundy Lake, CA


Lundy Lake is located about an hour north of Mammoth Mountain and 5.5 hours north of LA. Campsites and cabins are available, but should be reserved far in advance on their website.

5. Erick Schat’s Bakery

The Sheepherder Bread at Erick Schat’s Bakery is worth the drive by it’s self. The bakery is in Bishop, CA which is about an hour and a half northeast of Lundy Lake. Tip: Grab a sandwich while you’re there and buy some bread and treats to include with your camp food. Website.

4. Hiking Trails

There are hiking trails right near the campsites and cabins, including trails up to the abandoned May Lundy Mine. There is also Bodie Ghost Town nearby.

3. Incredible Views

Lundy Lake is nestled between two mountains so the aerial views are incredible!

2. The Lake

The lake is the main attraction here, so bring a kayak, stand up paddle board, canoe or some fishing gear to keep you busy on the lake.
